Thanks to the generosity of our community and local businesses, North Reading Little League raised over $9,000 for the Jimmy Fund this past weekend. Each year the NRLL enters teams into the “Jimmy Fund Summer Tournament”. This year, we have 7 teams playing at various levels, all with the goal of playing baseball and raising money for kids with cancer.
The tournament begins with a jamboree with teams from across the area coming to Benevento Memorial Field for games. This year we hosted a mini carnival to help our teams raise funds and the support was overwhelming. Over two days, 54 teams gathered at Benevento Memorial Field and played 27 games to benefit the Jimmy Fund.
Parents and kids volunteered, went business to business and spearheaded these efforts. We were even lucky enough to have Coach Arch and the state champion high school team join us to show their support!
Everyone at North Reading Little League would like to thank the businesses and volunteers for taking time out of their busy schedules to make this event such an overwhelming success. These businesses include:
